The Turok 3 remaster is getting a physical release

If you grew up with a Nintendo 64 then you’re likely familiar with the Turok series, and now is your chance to relive that magic with the physical release of the remaster of Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion. Limited Run Games has announced an official physical release of the game, with pre-orders live as of June 7. Pre-orders can also be placed all the way up until July 7 when the game launches.

Limited Run, as explained by its namesake, doesn’t release too many copies of the releases it puts out. So Turok fans will definitely want to jump on this release if they’re keen on having a physical copy. You’ll be able to pick up the game on three separate platforms – Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. There will also be two different editions available. The Standard Edition, which will retail for $30, and the Classic Edition which will retail for $60.

Think of the Classic Edition as a special Deluxe Edition since it comes with a few extra goodies. Again, keep in mind these will be limited. That said, there’s no mention of how many copies are being made.

The Turok 3 physical release is being joined by Turok 1 & 2 for Xbox

If a physical release of Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion wasn’t enough, you can also own physical releases of the Turok 1 & Turok 2 remasters. These are only being released for Xbox One, and there’s a good reason for that. The PS4 and Nintendo Switch releases of both remasters were released years ago. Both games came to Nintendo Switch back in 2019 and then to PS4 in 2021. Xbox One was the only console platform at the time that hadn’t received a copy. That is, until now.

This means if you’re playing on Xbox, you can easily get the entire trilogy in one fell swoop. Now worth noting is that none of these releases will be available anytime soon. The pre-orders start today, but the physical copies are still in pre-production. Orders aren’t actually shipping until October.

Add to your Turok collection with additional goodies

Alongside the games, Limited Run is enhancing your collection with more goodies themed after Turok. The first is a rigid slipcover that will fit all three game cases inside of it. If you plan to own all three, this slipcover will be a nice way to keep them all together and organized. These will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.

Other goodies are included with the Classic Edition. These include an embossed foil retro box, a reversible poster, CD game soundtrack, and a metal retro cartridge replica.
